STD risk evaluation

Hi everyone. I'm a bit concerned and would appreciate an evaluation of my risk.

I went to a strip club in Tijuana Mexico. I got 3 lap dances from 3 different strippers. I was fully clothed and my pants never came off; the strippers were nude however. I'm assuming there was good deal of vaginal secretions left on my pants after each lap dance. Is there any risk of catching gonorrhea/chlamydia or any other STDs if say, i went to the bathroom to urinate, and my penis(urethra) rubbed up against the area which had the vaginal secretions? I also slept in those jeans that night...i dunno if that makes a difference.

I know some of you think there's no way of this happening, but I've had one STD in my life, and that was gonorrhea, and I caught that by having a stripper give me a hand job after rubbing herself. She rubbed her hands directly into my urethra. Everyone said I had no risk, and I was diagnosed the next week. I had not had any other sexual activity for a while before that.

Anyway, after this last strip club encounter, I've been having some burning sensation during urination. Don't know if it's because I'm stressing over it, etc.

1) Is there any way I could have acquired an STD from my lap dance encounters?

2) How long does gonorrhea/chlamydia survive outside of the body, say on the surface of jeans?

I appreciate the advice.

  • No, you did not catch anything. Your previous experience was no comparison since you had contact with her body fluids. The germs do not live on clothing. You may have a bladder infection, unrelated. Drink more water and cranberry (without sugar) juice.

  • I would say it is very unlikely. I know that is not much of a reassuring response, but the only way you can put your mind at ease 100 per cent is to get a test. It's not necessarily a bad idea to go get yourself checked out anyway. At Sexual Health Clinics, the testing is fast, accurate and confidential. Chances are, you have nothing and you don't need treatment, but nothing is lost and you will at least have peace of mind.
