sneezing and lower left abdominal pain

I had surgery 4/18/08 for my 18 month upper abdominal pain (adhesions). 4 days ago when I sneezed I had acute lower left abdominal pain. This is nowhere near any of my incisions on my upper abdomen. Could this be something else? It is a very sharp pain that is not present unless I sneeze. It is very deep and low. I have had ovarian cysts before that spontaneously burst, but this keeps hurting.
Thanks for your help.

  • It is worth getting this problem checked out...it could be another ovarian cyst that has burst, or a problem relating to your ovary. It could just be muscular, if you pulled something as you sneezed. Is it painful to touch, or just when you sneeze? It could also possibly be a hernia or something along those lines, which may need medical attention. Its worth getting it checked out with a doctor, as they can examine you properly and give a diagnosis, or send you for tests to establish a diagnosis. Hope you feel better soon.

  • I agree, see a doctor to rule out anything serious. If the doctors dont find anything other than fascial restricion or adhesions. Go to a massage therapist and ask them to relese the connective tissue in the area. Good luck
