A couple weeks ago while I was washing I noticed I had what appeared to be a skin tag right next to my vagina, more near the perineum. I guess you could say by the labia majora. It was on the soft, dry skin rather than where the vagina opening is, though just barely.
I'm not a stranger to skin tags, I've got a very small one on the fold of my thigh where the bikini line is, one under my armpit and another very small one above my eyelid. Through some mirror maneuvering I got a good look at the one near my vagina; soon as I saw it I said, 'Oh great, what good timing for a skin tag.' Cause I am moving overseas to get married and my fiance has been waiting for me since July, which is when he last visited.
There was a little bit of discomfort after I examined it as I was pinching and moving it around to make sure it was indeed just a fleshy skin tag. There was some very light bleeding as well. I am very active and never noticed it until I'd sit down to urinate and cause some stinging for a second. After awhile even that went away completely. Besides that, it never bothered me at all! I even had a brazilian wax while it was there.
Well I was washing today and since I had completely forgotten about it, when I felt it was gone I sort of had a panic attack. In its place is just a very small bump.
I'm just wondering what the deal is here! I've never had a skin tag fall off on its own but I've read that it can happen. The last time I observed it (maybe about 5 days ago or less, I'd say), it was fleshy colored and quite small. As of this moment I can't get in to see a doctor (leaving for the UK in two days, and my previous gyno can't fit me in), though I plan to when I get there.
So, just wondering if anyone else has also had this happen. The skin tag was in a really unfortunate area and I imagine it was being squeezed constantly. I'm 99% positive I don't have herpes unless I contracted it over 4 years ago, considering I've never had an outbreak of any kind, am pretty careful with my sex life and have only been with 2 men in the last 4 years, both of whom have had 2-a-year STD tests. I guess my time for testing has come up too, though!
But, like I said, just wondering if anyone else has had a skin tag sort of mysteriously disappear from an embarrassing location. I think it would put my mind at ease (I'm scared of doctors :( ).
