Hi - my boyfriend has recently shown me that he has some red bumps on the shaft of his penis. Not very big and only on one side. Then he also showed me a mole that he said was not there before. We have been sexually active for about 8 months now. Back in October we went to the hospital for slightly swollen lymph nodes. Since then they have not gotten and better or worse. I was treated for chlymidia and gohnorrea when we first had started dating. I go for a check up at my GYN next week and was going to mention it. I am concerned because we are wanting to try for a child next month. I am just wondering what it could possibly be. Any help would be great! Thanks!

  • he should be showing those red bumps and mole to a doctor. You're not going to get the answers you need online. He may have herpes or moloscum contagioum, or cancer if the mole (or is it a wart?) is bad. Hold off on the kids for now. he can give you herpes, if you don't already have it...most likely, you will have whatever he has...get tested for everything since you want kids. Make this guy always use a condom. even if the red bumps clear up, he can pass it to you when he is shedding the virus without symptoms. :blood tests:syphilis, hiv, herpes2, hepatitis and a pap and all the other stds.Hope he took a bunch of antibiotics, too, when you first started dating...or hopefully, he wasn't the one who gave you all of those diseases.

  • OK well his "bumps" have changed...I have noticed that they are not kind of crusted over and starting to go away....I am not sure if they were ever open sores or not. We have not had sex since this started happening...Any ideas? We have both made appointments together to get tested.

  • Thank you for that help. I have discussed this over and over with my boyfriend....we are in the process of getting insurance so hopefully we are going to check eveything out next week. He has not had any odor, discharge, and has pimple like bumps that will arise after we have sex and then go away a few days later. He has a very mild itch but thats it. Lately I have now been experiencing itching and a discharge with an odor. But no bumps or anything like that. I should also add that i have an enlarged labia - Im not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for all your help! PS - i should also add that neither one of us have burning when urinating and his groin lymph nodes are still a little swollen

  • Get some blood tests, both of you, for herpes 2 and syphilis. It could be yeast, but sounds like more. Also, you get a pap to check for hpv. $89 here:http://www.labsafe.com/lab-tests/test/432/

  • I just recently went in for a pap smear and got a call today from the doctors. She said that all of the tests came back normal. So now I am wondering if they could've missed something. I got blood work done and everything. Is there something that can turn up a false negative? I have only been with my boyfriend for the past 10 months now. Please help, we just want to find out whats going on. Thanks!

  • I was treated for chlymidia and gohnorrea when we first had started dating. Was your current boyfriend the cause of this? Perhaps the infections have not cleared. Did they retest both of you for both of these?

  • No he was not the cause of this. I was treated for and it was clear before we even had intercourse (about a month later we had sex). I just wasnt sure if it had any relevance to problems we are having now.My boyfriend has not been tested yet (due to money issues) but when I went for my pap smear I had her do all STD tests including chlymidia and gohnorrea but all tests came back negative. From what I know he didnt have any STDs before me, which I hope he is telling the truth, but I'm not 100% sure. He hasnt ever been tested for STDs.We both went together and got free HIV/AIDS testing which came back negative so that was good. But we are still completely in the dark with this whole issue. I'm hoping that he goes and gets tested next week because I'm getting stressed over this. Thanks for your responses!

  • Did you get the herpes 2 blood test, too? You didn't say. There are strains and variations of stds that don't test in conclusively. He should go to the county std department when he has the red bumps and they should be able to say something, but wait until they are there. The county std health department will be free, but they don't do that herpes 2 blood test and the hpv. There are false negatives with the herpes2 blood test, but not false positives.
