I have had cold sores in the past, and they have gotten really bad at times. But for my past two episdoes (that have appeared within the past 3 months) I seemed to been able to catch them before they get to the visually awful phase. I use Valtrex, Denavir and home remedies. Instead of growing into large red sores and then scabbing over as usual, my lips instead seem to get a rash of sorts that spreads from the original spot, making my lips really rough but without any puss filled or red areas phase.
Has anyone else had this expereince? Are there any medical professionals that know what this "rash" could be? I have an appointment to see someone, but not until November.
Any help is appreciated!
