is it normal to bleed quite alot after a pap smear?

  • did you feel any pain while the pap smear was being done.It is normal to bleed a little bit after. are you just spotting or do you have alot of blood coming out. are you in pain now

  • ye it was very painful. there was quite alot of blood i suppose (enough to soak through onto my jeans abit). I didn't realise until i got home about 2hours later so i don't how long it bled for or how soon after it was. erm i don't have any cervical pain atm but alot of pelvic pain - my gynae thinks i have endo. thankyou for your replyxx

  • probably okay...usually just a little but it's not usually anything to worry about...see what your pap results are..

  • it could be endo but the pap test wont show that you should get an ultrasound to check for endo and large cysts...but your dr will prob will want to wait till the pap test results are in to see if there are any abnormal cells

  • my gynae did the test because he thinks i may have endo so he wanted to rule out infection etc. thanks for your help
