Hi I have been looking at the symptoms for Ovarian Cancer and many of them match me such as:
*low back pain
*bloating in stomach for about six months non stop even in the mornings
*almost daily head aches
*pelvic pain/abdominal pain
*I am always tierd
*I have been having the urge to urinate mor frequent in the past few month (no pain when urinating tho)
*weight changes i gained like 15 pounds in a couple of weeks then I lost it all in 2 weeks with no reason at all.
*I could go days without eating

I had an abnormal Pap smear last year but when they did another one it was fine???
I have had these symptoms for about six months, I have not went to see my GP cause he already thinks I'm crazy for having to see him all the time for my back pain and he did x-rays and found nothing so then he just thought that i was making it all up so now i am to embarrassed to even call him.

Thank you in advance for all your help

  • It could be anything. Constipation, for example, along with chlamydia--reasonable--explains the abnormal pap--the pap does not show cancer in your ovaries...you should probably repeat the pap in 6 months, but that was not a concern..I don't know why you are spending so much time giving yourself cancer. If you are unsatisfied with your doctor, find someone else...get a female gynecologist--leave the diagnosis to her..

  • It is not an STD I have been with the same partner for almost 4 years and i am the only one that he has ever been with and on top of that I have been tested for STDs and STIs on 2 Ocassions in the past four years when I was pregnant with my babies.I would also know if I was constipated...I am not spending a lot of time on studying ovarian cancer or even saying that I have it I just came across the symptom list yesterday and they all seem to match.I have had these symptoms going on for over six months and I just want them to be resolved.I have only been to my GP about this, would it be better for me to go see my gynecologist? My abnormal Pap test was resolved when I got it redone last year.Thanx for the advice:o

  • I think if you think you may have ovarian cancer then you must see a gynocologist. You should not wait because your survival depends on catching it in its early stages. Let the doctor decide what to do and don't mess with it. They may do a biospy of your uterus but probably first an ultrasound; I'm not sure how they biospy the ovary, but if you have any pain meds, take one before the uterine biopsy. They say it doesn't hurt, but they lie.Get your thyroid checked while you are at it...

She is not giving her time to giving herself cancer! She just only yesterday saw the symptoms of ovarian cancer and realized she has all the symptoms. However you are correct in saying she should get a female gynecologist, the sooner the better I'd say!I guess until you have walked in her shoes you will have no idea what it is like to be very unwell an in pain and not have a "real" answer for the pain. And as the pain is still there and getting worse I think it's pretty natural to wonder if you could indeed have something much worse then IBS especially after seeing the symptoms of ovarian cancer and seeing that you have them.I'm wondering, are you a female or a male?
