I had an IUD inserted about 2 weeks ago.
I got my period on Thursday and the 1st 3 days was light and then it started to get heavy at times and then light again. So I went to my OBGYN and she checked to see if the IUD is still there. She said there's a 2% or 3% chance that it could come out. It didn't. It's still there.
She said that this period and even the next one might still be heavy. Then it will get lighter and lighter until I don't get it anymore. I have to feel for this string that hangs near my cervix which I can't feel. My OBGYN said that the other doctor (in the same office) who inserted it either cut the string shorter than she does or it moved closer to my cervix. Either way it's going to be hard to feel it but she said I would know if it came out. I would probably see it. Plus I would get a lot of bleeding and some cramping.
Does anyone have short strings with their IUDs? How do you feel the string if it's that short? I would feel better if I can feel the string but it's too short. Any suggestions?
