Okay well ever since I was around 17 to 18 years old I've had irregular periods. Now i'm 21 and the only thing that my doc has had me on since then are birth control pills. Hes told me that they will regulate my periods and make my cycle come back to its normal stage. But recently I've been looking this up online and I'm hearing different things from people, like theyre saying that pills actually dont regulate your period. The blood that is being shed is only caused by the hormones and not by the actual period that is supposed to be regulated. I've been taking pills on and off for about three to four years already. Throughout the time when I would stop taking them my period would still not come. The doc would just tell me I had to be on it a little longer. But seriously now I'm worried. I dont like being on the pill because it just makes me feel bloated and sick. I dont plan on having kids any time soon but I would like to be a mother in the future. If I could do anything about this right now I will, I just want to know if I should find another method to regualte my periods with!!?? I'm not taking the pills as a birth control method which I know protects me but If my cycles are not regular and healthy then whats the point of taking the pill that is only making it worse. Am I right about this or no?? Please someone give me there best advice!!! I'm really worried of not being able to have kids in the future and not being able to have my regular periods again!! This month I'm getting off the pill to see If my period can start regulating itself!!! Can anyone give me there best advice on what the best solution could be

Thanks I would appreciate that alot!!
