Hey guys! I know you can't diagnose, but Istill. I am going to get tested in 3 days, but I think I will die of worries untill then. I have a boyfriend for months, and we started having sex without a condom because I get allergies from condoms. So, a week after our last act I got something like a pimple between my outer lips and the clitoris. It grew up and became with a white edge, and it hurt but mainly if i touched it. Then it disappeared in 3 days. Now there is something like a crust on the spot where it used to be. Yesterday my chest hurt a lot, and today my back. My skin on the back and chest hurts so much that it is like burning. I took a pain-killer for flu symptoms, because I also think I have the flu, so now nothing hurts me. However, today the same spot itches again, and I have something like 3 underskin swollen bumps in a row, which you can see only if you pull up the skin. I do not have pain while peeing, or fever. I have checked out pictures on the internet of herpes and mine does not look like any of these. Do you think it could be herpes? Anyone experienced similar symptoms ? Thank you!

  • Everyone presents differently. I had flu-like symptoms also. But I did have burning with urination with a watery vaginal discharge also. I had a high fever with it. My body ached like I never felt before. My back hurt so bad I never felt anything like it. I had all kinds of blood work and was checked for gonorrhea and chlamydia also. Negative. I had a pelvic exam by my family doc who didn't see anything. The minute I went to the GYN, she said my cervix looked irritated and thought it was Herpes. My husband and I had been together for a year. Never noticed any symptoms on either of us. He only ever had one partner...his ex wife whom he suspected cheated on him. I thought I may have brought this disease to him as I had other partners before all in long-term relationships. My blood was then checked and it was negative for Herpes but my culture was positive. Had my husband checked and he was positive by blood test. Here, he apparently gave it to me! We were both devastated and couldn't/can't tell off his ex....she may not even know she has it and then would blame us and it would be all over town! Since we are both positive, it is not necessary for us to protect or take meds unless we want to shorten our outbreaks. He gets and ocassional lesion on his butt that usually starts as an ache in his hip. Not worth treating as it only causes a few days of slight discomfort. My suggestion to you is to get tested....it MUST be a Herpes Select test....it determines if it is HSV1 or 2....oral or genital. You need an IGG test, not an IGM....the select test will cover this. Good luck and don't give up.

  • I was just diagnosed with herpes in the genitals when i presented with extreme pain and swelling and yeast infection. But I have been celibate for about 10 years. But I have had shingles (herpes zoster) and fever blisters (herpes 1). Does this mean that I got this infection as a result of the cold sores? And if so (and that's the only way I could have contracted it UNLESS it stays dormant for years and years and years), then why does all the literature say that you can ONLY get genital herpes (herpes 2) from sexual contact? Because I also have read that cold sores can cause genital herpes. It's confusing. And a bit embarrassing, and not to mention quite painful. :-(To the responder above, if your husband infected his ex, then I guess it's up to him whether he informs her or not. The horse is already out of the barn at this point, so it seems less a callous act than it would if he didn't inform a NEW sex partner about it if he knows he has it. Hope you resolve things. And to the first poster, sounds like some sound advice about the tests was given. Good luck with it.

  • You shouldn't call yourself a coward...I have heard that some people do go foryears without any symptoms. you were lucky, my outbreaks came one after theother when I got it. A clinic nurse kept sending me home w/ no meds, they will go away, you could'nt afford it anyhow, she said! A few months past and theykept poppin' up in different spots. I went back insisting she give me a script, Itold her , while I was showing her, " If you had one of these (penis) would youwant to be told every few months, ' IT'll go away !!' GIMMEE PILLS!! I seldomhave any more flare-ups. I've been celibate longer than you...it's just to hard toexplain this to anyone. I think you're right about the cold sores, the girl I was dating at the time always had ointment for the corners of her lips. That's just a guess. Good Luck

  • My Husband was infected by HER, not the other way around. She had affairs now as we are finding out as he sat home late at night and watched their son....all she does is party and he was so trusting but he finds out now that his supposed friends may have known about this all along. When I moved in with him, I remember finding the same pills my doc prescribed for us....in her name. She has lost two jobs so far and has bill collectors calling here for her all the time. We were/are so angry with her to be such a liar and cheater....but many many people are infected and don't know it for years and years. Some people have symptoms and never realize it thinking they just have a pimple on their butt or something and overlook it when it goes away in a few days. It is possible this laid dormant in your body for those 10 years. The only way to know is to get the IGG herpes select test.
