I started having postmenopausal bleeding after falling face first on my living room carpet. My overgrown puppy tripped me. At first all I had was left-sided pain over my ovary area. The bleeding didn't start right away. Then it was spotting here and there. The bleeding increased over a period of a couple of months along with diarrhea, pressure, pain, nausea, cramps and back pain. Two weeks ago I suddenly started bleeding with gushes of blood especially upon standing from sitting and bending over.
In the past, I've had PMB caused by an larger than normal endometrial stripe. That bleeding stopped for a long time. Over a course of four years I've had four endometrial biopsies. All negative. I've had several external and internal pelvic ultrasounds. All showing normal. I also had an MRI of my pelvic region in 2007 which was negative.
Due to my past history, I decided to wait to see what transpired with this. Normally the bleeding goes away on it's own. In the past my PMB was caused by my hypothyroidism and being either over or under medicated.
However this time the bleeding escalated along with symptoms.
I'm on a high dose of Provera to stop the bleeding. It took two days of taking 120 mg to stop the bleeding.
I see the gynecologist on Thursday.
In the meantime, I've been wondering if the fall on my stomach caused some damage or something else? Maybe the endometrial stripe dislodged itself?
