I gave birth to a healthy baby in mid January. Immediately afterwards I had my tubes tied, and I resumed sex at 2 weeks (kinda early, I know). At my 4wk postpartum appt I was having a lot of pain in the lower left side of my abdomen. The doc said I just wasnt completely healed up. I didnt start my period until the first week of April. Heavy flow, passed a lot of clots, aching in abdomen (more on left side), and lasted a whopping 49days! I also had a lot of painful bloating that was sometimes triggered by just bending over to pick something up off the floor. Once the bleeding finally stopped, I noticed sharp shooting pains in my lower abdomen accompanied by a throbbing ache in my left side and the left side of my back. I just started my period on June 19. I know its nearly impossible for me to be pregnant, but the only other times that I felt these sharp pains were when I was pregnant with my two daughters. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Because you weren't healed up before you resumed sex, you could have gotten a nasty bacterial infection. Better get some tests done.
