Discomfort/minor pain in scrotum, angled testicle

I'm 19, not sexually active, no history of testicular cancer or other issues in my family

I've been having this problem for about 4 or 5 days now. I have some minor pain in my scrotum, mostly concentrated around the left side. The discomfort kind of reaches into the lower abdomen at times as well. My left testicle seems to be angled a little bit (the front is higher than the rear, in relation to the right testicle).

I'm nearly positive it's not torsion, since I haven't had any swelling or sharp, severe pain, just minor discomfort sometimes bordering on dull ache. If it is torsion somehow, that testicle is dead  (like I said, 4 or 5 days now)

From what I've been reading, it sounds kind of like varicocele, but I haven't felt the oft-described 'bag of worms', though I haven't really gone looking for it yet.

I've done a couple 'diagnostic' masturbation sessions and I have no problems with ejaculation or anything.

I see my doctor on the 7th and I'll ask him about it then, any ideas in the meantime?

  • Anyone experienced varicocele before? It still doesn't hurt, it really doesn't ache any more either, but the left testicle is still slightly angled up and almost feels a little smaller, but that could be an illusion due to the change in position. Still no problems with sexual function though, so that's good.I've been giving the left testicle light flicks occasionally to make sure it's not dead/dying. All normal so far.

  • I think nobody answer here... I have the same problem, what did your doctor say?I actually ended up not mentioning it to the doctor :o, it was pretty much a non-issue by the time the appointment rolled around. Sorry I can't be of any help. The left testicle seems to have righted itself mostly, and I don't have any more ache/soreness/weirdness. I'll occasionally have some odd feeling in the scrotum while laying down in bed, but I'm almost positive it's psychological. After all this, I'm super aware of everything that's going on in my scrotum and I seem to have developed a legitimate phobia of testicular torsion .
