Hi there, I really hope you can help me. My younger sister is 15 and has diabetes. She rarely gets her period, and when she does they are extreeemely heavy and there are large clots. She tells me they can be as big as a tennis ball. She is really worried about this but our doctor says there is nothing to worry about. Can anyone offer any reassurance or advice please? Thank you for taking the time to read this, Cx

Thank you for taking the time to read this, CxHi I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes just a year ago. I hadn't seen a period for 9yrs and recently been getting really heavy periods like your sister with huge clots. My doctor perscribed northisterone which i take 21 days a month and leave out a week. They seem to be working for me. You have to be carefull with heavy bleeding with diabetes, i was taken into hospital very tacky cardic having been bleeding so heavy. So your sisters not alone. Try talking to the doctor or your diabetes nurse. Good luck. Look after each other
