i just found out i have chlamydia, i haven't had sex for a year and a half. now i am having sex with my boyfriend. my last pap smear was normal. this one was not. is it 100% sure i got it from my new boyfriend?

  • i'd say it's almost 100% that you must have gotten it from your new boyfriend. If your last test was normal, then it must have been contracted since then. Even if you did get it a year ago, you would have noticed pain in your kidneys or urinary tract after that long. Chlamydia in women often goes unnoticed for a few months, but after that it can really damage the urinary tract system..so you'd have noticed loooonnng ago if it's an old case.Anyway, get your new boyfriend tested.

  • I agree with the second poster. It is essential he got himself checked too although it won't prove to him that it was him who contracted it first.It least you know!

  • I agree. It isnt about blame it is about health. Both of you should go to the doctor and get this taken care of. Then you can proceed with your relationship.Nothing to be ashamed of. Only would be a shame if you and he didn't get rid of it.
