I have recently been experiencing numbness in my right breast. I have been to my physician a lot in recent months because I am also experiencing secondary amenorrhea. I have not had a regular period (or any, for that matter) in over a year. I am 20 years old, 5'7, and according to most BMI calculators, slightly underweight. My physician continues to put off different forms of birth control to regulate menstruation because I experienced extreme nausea from an oral contraceptive and she does not want to rush anything (I would just like to be normal again but she has more patience than I do??).
I also had lung surgery (on the right side) in early December for a spontaneous pneumothorax that was attributed to my body type and activity level (I am a runner).
I am beginning to worry about the numbness in my breast and am wondering if it is related to either the lung surgery or lack or menstruation, or both.
Can anybody tell me what's going on? Any ideas or advice is appreciated. Thanks.
