Hi there,

Basically, I'm a 19-year-old guy and have had un-protected sex twice. The first time was about a year ago and I noticed the skin on my penis head started to peel and the tip itched. I had no signs of herpes or anything like that, just irritation and very faint small red dots around the shaft. Thought it might just be friction burn or a reaction to the condom (wore one to start with). Had un-protected sex with my girlfriend (who's a virgin) a week ago (also wore a condom to start with but the condom was really tight and hurt) and the little red dots have appeared again and it burns a little when I urinate. There's no signs of blistering, discharge etc. I do masturbate a lot, usually around twice a day so could have something to do with that? it usually happens after I wear a condom as well.

I had a Chlamydia test about three weeks ago which came back negative.

Any idea what it could be? just an allergic reaction? I will get it checked out, I just literally have no time at all what with Uni and Work. Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you!

If there is no pain for now you should be ok. BUt I would suggest a visit to a doctor. Condom can't protect you from genital warts.

Condom can't protect you from genital warts. That's what I'm thinking (and hoping). It only reacts after I've worn a condom. I also used lube whilst masturbating a while ago and I had the same reaction (red dots, itching, burning sensation). But would being allergic to latex cause the burning sensation whilst urinating? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.Well if you think that this might be the case then you should try the non latex condoms. Just to see how it goes. Maybe you should give masturbating or sex some time off. For a few days, maybe this would be helpful. What do you think?

  • It could be anything, but it is something. You might consider molluscum-contagiosum and then also get a herpes blood test to rule that out. If all negative, then I would look into allergies/yeast. It's not fair of you to put it on a virgin.

  • Thanks for the replies guys.I've looked around and my symptoms are exactly the same as something called 'Balanitis'? says that latex condoms can cause a reaction if you have this as well. What's the best way to sort it out? seeing my GP will be the most embarrassing ever! I'm in the UK, btw.
