I came down with a severe sore throat over the weekend. I called my phyisican and she prescribed an antibiotic for me (Avelox) which I take once a day. My head is full and when I sneeze a big bunch of yellow/brown stuff comes up from my chest. Tonight I had blood mixed with it. I do not cough otherwise, just occasionally. Last night I had a lot of pflegm caught down the back of my throat and I couldn't get it up or down. Just kept clearing and clearing my throat trying to get it up or down. Could I have irritated my throat by doing this and that is where the blood is coming from? Seems like my throat is getting sore again this evening. I did cough up blood a couple of years ago and went through a battery of tests and the diagnosis was MAC disease. I am very healthy. Exercise morning and evening 5 days a week. Do not smoke. Am currently on a diet and have lost down to almost my desired weight. I am having 25 people over for Easter dinner on Sunday and do not have time to run to the doctor this weekend for something that may be very minor in nature. Can you help me?
