I am a 72 year old white female. I have chest pain, back pain, jaw pain, pain down my arm, and shortness of breath. Every thing leads to cardiac problems. I have had 4 heart caths, lungs checked, and digestive tract checked. I have just returned from Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and they concur it is not heart, lungs, or digestive tract, After 2 1/2 years I am getting very depressed. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be and where I should turn next??? Thanks beab

  • Hi, sorry your in so much pain. :( I have simular symptoms. The checked my heart, it was O.K. It turned out to be costrochndritis. An inflammitory disease of the connective tissue, carcalige and muscles of the chest and rib cage. Migh want to run it past your MD. Even the shortness of breath may be connected. When in pain we tend to breath very shallow. Especially when it hrts to breath in. That will cause SOB (shortness of breath)HAve they ruled out panic attacks? I hope they find out soon. Being Short OB is scarry. Chronic pain can wear you down. Also, I think its great that you are on the web searching for answers. A lot of people your age won't have anything to do with the internet. You must be very young at heart. Take care.:)
