Does anyone know if tuberculosis infection can be carried dormant
in the lungs and not detectable by xray? If so, where can I find
an authoritative medical statement to that effect?

  • I was diagnosed with TB infection or latent tuberculosis. My xray was clear but my skin test (PPD) came out positive. This can remain dormant in our lungs even for life unless our immune system really went down or you are HIV+. If this happens, the infection could become the disease...
