  • I have suffered from postnasal drip for over 5 years now.I have had a stomach operation to correct acid reflux.... not stopped drip!I have had a septoplasty to correct a deviated septum.... not stopped drip!I have tried many different medications and had many tests but no luck yet!I also have allergies which I am told is mosty likley the cause so at the moment I am using a nasal steroid spray which I am told will have to be used for a long time 6-12 mths for it to work so after 1.5 months I am still hoping.I find that "Lockets" or similar throat sweets help reduce and break down the phlegm, and I have purchased a nasal irrigator machine which I use daily to wash my sinuses which seems to help for short periods after use.Your cause is most likely one of the above.... go to see an ENT specialist straight away. I have been to many specialists in different fields but ENT is the one you need! Its a difficult thing to live with, I know!!!Hope this helps.
