Some Insight, Please?

Hello, everyone! I'm an 18 year old female and for probably the last two or three years (I don't remember when it started) I've been finding myself holding my breath for long periods of time. I don't usually notice that I've been holding my breath until my body basically says that it needs some air again. This happens while I'm just doing something around the house (reading, relaxing, ect.) or even sometimes when I'm out for a walk I'll notice I'm holding my breath again. (This does stop, however, when I'm running.)

Now I'm not saying that this is some medical problem (perhaps it all is just something weird my head decides to do?) but it is rather annoying and I'd appreciate some insight on why I happen to be holding my breath so much throughout the day. I've just done some research and I've gotten no answers to my question. (The only thing I could find is when infants have the whooping cough.) Thank you all very much for taking the time to help me out with this. :)
