About 11 months ago I moved into an apartment in an old building.. I started getting sick more and more often, from once a month, to twice a month with different things, til I got sick and it just didn't go away... Thought it was just something going around each time til I got fed up and there has to be another explanation.. is it from mold? (total time living there: 9 months)

Anyways I moved out over 2 months ago but still have symptoms.

Symptoms at first were: same as sinusitus, nasal drip at front and back of throat, as well as wet cough and hacking up thick dark yellow flem..
These lasted about 4 months which was when I started going to the doctor(s) who have no idea what to diagnose this as.. They prescribed Flovent inhaler which I used for 2 months and now stopped, and Nasonex which I've used for the last 1.5 months (the first month was at the same time as the last month I was using flovent (corticosteroid).

I went to a ENT specialist and he just said use more nasonex, and he's gonna put a camera in my nose next week.

Symptoms now (and for about 2 months) are: a bit of post nasal drip, and sometimes at the front if I'm excersizing, but mostly is this THICK dark yellow stuff I keep spitting up. The amount is too much to be produced in the nose and dripping down, i think..

I also think my voice has changed, altho I have good days and bad days where i recognize my voice and where i don't.

I feel completely fine except for a tiny bit of nasal congestion and this sick amount of dark yellow stuff I keep hocking up.
It's not accompanied by a cough, I induce cough to get it out, and even when it feels like it's all out I can still hear a gurgling when I breath out all the way, and some days, it feels like my lungs are full of this stuff within half an hour and it even disrupts my speaking cuz my throat fills up with that crap.

Other notes:
I don't smoke anything nor have I ever.
Drink rarely.
No drugs.
No shortness of breath (been back on a weighlifting routine for 2 months, including the diet)
Healthy diet.
No other meds.
Some asthma in the family, altho I've been tested twice for it and comes back normal.
Had pretty much every test imagineable and all come back normal (allergy test coming this week)
Exercise almost daily.
No pets in the building.
No smokers in the building.
No blood spit up with mucus.
Smeller works fine.
No ear trouble or headaches.
Age 24.
Low air pollution location.
No noticeable triggers or reliefs, just random good and bad days regarding symptoms.
Normal appetite and bowel mvmt.
I've seen a couple doctors, they seem as confused as I do.

This stuff feels like it's coming from deep deep inside the lungs and I have to force huge coughs to clear it out, it's pretty gross and annoying and it's so thick that sometimes it hardly washes down the drains with the holed cover over the drain, and if it lands on a dry sink it pretty much won't wash down.

Am I slowly becoming the Fly??? WTF?
thanks in advance.

  • You probably have mold growing in your home. It could be under carpets, in walls, or in ceilings. Ask your landlord to check, if they refuse to (like mine did), call the better business bureau and they will make someone take care of it. If you have moved you should eventually feel better. You can still have spores and the like in your lungs and it would take time for you to feel better. Or a Dr could probably prescribe an medication.About 11 months ago I moved into an apartment in an old building.. • When phlegm is yellow and thick, that is a sign of an infection. It could be fungal (as said before) or it might not. I advise you go to a doctor and get the following tests, if you haven't already had them:-Chest x-ray-Phlegm cultureGood luck!
