My 4-year-old son has been experiencing the same symptoms when sitting down and sometimes when standing. I took him to his pediatrician today, and she found that his bowels are blocked. I could feel it myself when I pressed on his stomach. The blockage is up near the top of the bowel, which apparently presses upward onto the lungs, causing him to feel like he can't catch his breath fully. She prescribed a stool softener and said it should be better within a few days. This was such a relief! I am wondering if this could be the case for any of your kids.
