My nephew is almost 12 months old and is now battling his third case of pneumonia. He had RSV when he was about 2 months old. The RSV turned into pneumonia, he was hospitalized, got better. A couple months later, he was diagnosed with pneumonia again. Same procedure. Last night, he was taken to the ER with purple lips and a 103 degree temp. Once again, pneumonia. What could cause this? I, personally, have never known anyone to have pneumonia more than once, until now. Any ideas?
