Forgetting to breathe, but no pain

I hoped someone could help me shed some light on this. I recently had an allergic reacton to paracetamol, and ever since I have continued to stop breathing unconciously, specially when lying down and trying to sleep. The odd part is that I feel no pain whatsoever from this. Even if i hold my breath voluntarily for long pereriods of time, i feel no pain, just weakness and dizziness. What could it be? Could it be a remnant of the allergic reaction(it partially closed my throat, whit caused me to have a deficit of oxygen and get dizzy without noticing at first) Or a problem with PH(as it is the drop in PH in the blood which hurts)
