Have a case where coughing spasms come on with no warnings. Only happened twice. First time lasted two weeks and ended as suddenly as it came on. Tried a plethora of meds which none seemed to work or ease the cough. However when sleeping the cough quit completely. Previously chest x-rays were clear, no cold symptoms, no chest issues were detected. Unclear as to what brought it or or why it ended. Coughing is very dry and hard and rapid. Very similar to the girl who had the constant hiccups. No explanation and ended with no reason.
