Hello,

I am mildly concerned about these symptoms I'm having. I have had a slight cough (with clear phlegm at times) and pain in my mid-upper back. This pain feels like a pinching or a sharp sort of pain. This is mostly occurring near my right shoulder blade (and it kinda travels down my right arm). However I have felt similar pains on my left side chest near my armpit and left back. Yesterday I had a stiff neck, although it is better today. This pain is better in the morning, but gets worse as the day progresses. It's not intolerable, but I just want to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong with me.

I work graveyard shifts, and go to school, so I do get rather stressed at times. I have smoked off and on for about a year and a half. Sometimes I'll go weeks without having a cigarette, sometimes I'll smoke a couple packs in a week. Since this started happening a couple weeks ago, I stopped completely, and do not ever want to touch it again.

Please let me know.

Thanks!

  • Another thing I should mention...I took melatonin every night to help me sleep, but I have stopped since about a week ago.

  • I guess I should also add that I have a job where I basically sit in a chair for 8-12 hours. There is movement involved, but some nights it's really slow.
