  • Has any thought been given in having a lung biopsy performed? My mother has recently been diagnosed with MAC; mycrobacterial avium complex. It is a very serious lung infection. More and more people are getting this. It is a form of TB but not contagious. The information on the internet relates primarily to patients with HIV; but there are women without HIV that seem to have it.

  • Have you had your mom tested for carbon dioxide levels? One of the sign is a long term cough. It is a simple blood test. The blood is drawn from a vain. My mother recently passed away from carbon dioxide poisining. It can be . chronic or acute. My mom went from being okay to dying within 3 days. She had COPD which is another story but it did contribute to her death. Good Luck to you and do not give up. This is hard to diagnois this condition so many times it is misdiagnosed.Denise Masslon
