I am a 21 year old university student. Exactly 1 week ago, I developed what I thought to be the flu. I was feeling pretty horrible - sore throat and a minor cough, but it was the chills and aches and fevers that really got to me.
After about 4 days, the chills and fevers subsided a little. I had also been taking cold and flu tablets to help with the symptoms. However, I then developed a really harsh cough. Every time I cough, I feel a stabbing pain in my chest, and the cough is very deep. Initially I was coughing up just clear phlegm, but now it has gone a little yellow.
More worrying, I am unable to walk more than about 50 metres without getting significantly out of breath and needing to take a rest.
It has been 7 days and my condition is staying the same, if not getting slightly worse at times. After doing a little research, I am worried this might be Pneumonia - or am I making too much of it and is this just a flu?
Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated :)
