Chest Pain While Breathing

Starting several months ago, I began having a pain in the left side of my chest if I took a deep breath. Sometimes I can feel aching if I moved. The symptoms are similar to pleurisy or an injury to my chest wall (says my GP), but non-steroidal anti-inflammatories only provided a band-aid. Once I finished my prescription and they wore off, it was back again. Any ideas?
