I am a 26 year old female and over the last week I have been getting a burning feeling in the left hand side of my chest around and under the breast area.
I feel lightheaded, sick, clammy hands and I sweat at night even if it's cold. My heart rate isn't fast but I do feel it pounding more then usual.
It happens mainly at night and sometimes when I am sitting down doing nothing.
It often radiates round to the side of my chest and under my arm pit and just a few hours ago my upper back area also started burning along with pins and needles.
I wouldn't say it's painful just uncomforterble and worrying!
My breathing isn't any different (I have asthma anyway) and it sometimes burns a bit more when I cough.
Please help!!!!
thank you

  • what did the doctor say? I have the same thing. I have shoulder pain on my left side and suffer from panic attacks. I went and had an ekg and stress test and those came back fine, but I still get scared to death when that happens.

  • Does yours last for up to a couple of weeks at a time? and does it kinda feel like your going to have a heart attack? That's what mine feels like and I have been to see 2 different doctors and they have both said it is anxiety attacks.

  • Yes, that's exactly what mine feels like, except I also get a weird sensation all through my body. Tingling and weakness. My doctor says the same thing, and although I hate it, it's better than having an actual heart condition.

  • It can hurt your muscles so that could explain the weakness you mentioned.I get tingling too, I mainly get it in my back! It is scary when it happens and I've never had a heart attack but I'm sure that's what it would feel like.I try not to worry so much when it's happening because the more anxious you get then obviously the worse the attack will be.

Now I dont get them at all anymore. I used to have to get off of the freeway because I would get them so bad. Or would just stay home. Ask your doctor what is right for you. OH and it takes up to two weeks to start working.
