I am 22 years old, and about a year 1/2 ago I started coughing up phlegm with small black/brown flecks in it. I have read around a bit, and cant find much (except for here on the lung cancer forum on the only post), and also on wikipedia a bit. I think it may be because I smoke, but not very much, maybe like 3-6 per day for about the last 5 years. Ive seen other people post about it on other forums, but no replies.

Any information is much appreciated :)

  • It is usually when you cough up blood is when you really have to worry, smoking over the years will cause you to cough up stuff like that. To be safe next time you see your doctor ask for a chest xray. It can hurt to get one
