Anyone heard of a calcified node on lung?

I am 29/F in decent health. A few years ago I was having night sweats and weight loss. Doc did a chest x-ray and saw something questionable. A CT scan revealed what he called a calcified node on the lung. He seemed unconcerned about the issue but suggested I come back in six months, which I didn't because I got dropped from the practice for not paying my bill on time(I have no insurance)

This has been a few years, should I go back for a followup scan? (I have a new doc now.) Or are these nodes normal. It seems weird that I would worry about this years after the fact but lately I've been having some health anxiety.

  • You should follow it up with a doctor. It may have been an infection and it turned into a cyst, then solidified. But for peace of mind, get it checked out. Calcified nodes are usually harmless, but they can be warnings of a diease processes.
