I am 49 year old active male who experienced SP while rock climbing. My right lung was 70% collapsed which required a chest tube for 3.5 days at which point I convinced the doctor to let me out of the hospital, after agreeing that the last bit of air that didn't come out would come out on its own. Everything went well, I am already back to street biking within 8 days of leaving the hospital and feel great and have to add that I appear to be able to get a fuller breath than I was getting before the issue occurred which is interesting.
I have one lingering issue that I can not find any info on. I can feel a small amount of air pockets or bubbles shift when I bend over from a vertical position, like when your going to tie your shoes, I feel movement which feels very weird.
I still have another week before I see the specialist, but am wondering if anyone knows if this will go away by itself after awhile or if it is something that needs to be treated before it creates other issues? Thanks very much for any replies, I could not find anyone commenting on this issue.
