I currently am having general shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing when i exert myself at all, this is accompanied by an extreamly sharp pain in my chest. Usually when i relax the pain goes away and My entire body feels numb, I can still funtion and walk and all that but i dont have feeling.

I have been to military doctors 3 times about this and every time they give me an inhaler and thats, that. The inhalers do not help and I am afraid if I continue to go they will charge me with milngering and thats something that I dont want to deal with, does anyone have any suggestions on what it might be? Thanks everyone.

  • That sounds like walking pneumonia. I would insist on chest x-rays.

  • I found this site trying to research my health issues. I have been an avid runner for over 12 years but for the last few months have been suffering from chest pains. Three years ago I had a stent placed in my artery--the best thing that ever happened. My activity never dwindled--running five to seven miles per day, riding my bike and swimming. I love working up a sweat! When I started having these symptoms, my cardiologist ran tests on me and found the problem to not be my heart and advised that I see my GP. My GP ran two tests on me and cannot determine the reason for these pains. He advised that I wait one month and if the problem persists to call him again. In researching these symptoms, DaCosta Syndrome seems to describe exactly what is occuring to me however it describes it as more of a psychological problem. I'm don't agree with that conclusion. In the morning I feel GREAT and hopeful that "today, maybe I can run". I will start off running but before I hit half a mile, I feel the pain start on my left side. I'll stop running and start walking. As this progresses, it has taken longer for the pain to go away. And the pain has sometimes been so bad that I feel as though I need to sit down. I find the strength not to sit--as I am pretty ******n myself. I would so love to have this over with so I can start running again.I'm forcing myself through the walks that I used to run, pain and all. Hopefully I will work through the pain and one day run again. I hope you find a way through this too.I currently am having general shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing when i exert myself at all, this is accompanied by an extreamly sharp pain in my chest.
