My 13 yr old son has had recurrent fevers for 2 yrs now (beginning a few months after his father died tragically) He has had many blood tests which all come back normal. Sometimes he has other symptoms with fever but not always. He does have psoriasis (also beginning 2 years ago).
A few of the other sporatic symptoms are headache, heartburn, paleness, general unwell feeling) His knees hurt at times but this could also be growing pains. His blood tests came back normal for JRA. He misses alot of school. The doctors have not been able to diagnosis. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

  • Stills disease? I saw something on tv about a man who got a fever at the same time everyday, and they eventually diagnosed him with something that could be treated with aspirin, which may not be safe for your son because of his age. I think that guy had adult onset stills disease, but i am not certain because i don't remember what episode it was so it is hard to look up. hope that helps.

  • You might try checking out Fabry Disease. Sounds like some of the symptoms could be from that.

  • There are gains for all our losses. There are balms for all our pain: But when youth, the dream, departs It takes something from our hearts, And it never comes again. We are stronger, and are better, Under manhood's sterner reign: Still we feel that something sweet Followed youth, with flying feet, And will never come again. Something beautiful is vanished, And we sigh for it in vain; We behold it everywhere, On the earth, and in the air, But it never comes again!

  • He could have a gastrointestinal disease; a parasite like giardia; an allergy to wheat products (gluten), or other. Consider seeing a gastroenterologist.Hope he is better.
