Hello, I am 20 years old and I suspect that I may be a genetic chimera. I have a distinct vertical line down my abdomen that separates lighter skin on my left side from slightly darker skin on my right. I believe that this type of pigmentation is refered to as Blaschko's Lines, which can be a visible indication of chimerism. I also have sectoral heterochromia (a mix of brown and blue iris) in my right eye. I have not been diagnosed because I haven't had any known medical complications that could be related to this condition. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am more interested in chimerism than concerned; and I wouldn't mind participating in research to confirm this diagnosis. Thanks!

Thanks!Hi, I'm actually extremely interested in chimerism and quite surprised that I might have a chance to contact a person like you. I'm actually only a high school student, but if you have any questions related to chimerism I will try my best to answer them. Also, if you don't mind, I would greatly appreciate some more information about your case. When you say medical complications, could you possibly specify? Does this mean problems with the immune system or issues that are un-related. ThanksSherwin W.Contact Me: goobysnach@hotmail.com

  • I also suspect that I am a chimera...Scientists think this condition happens a lot more than we think. There is a documentary called ""I am my own twin" You should look it up & see if you can get it - it is vey good/intersting & gives much insight into the subject.Hello, I am 20 years old and I suspect that I may be a genetic chimera.
