Connection between Crohn's and purple toes?

Hi, both of my big toes simultaneously started to turn blue, then purple and black, starting about three months ago. At first I thought I had somehow bruised them, but changing shoes and letting time pass has done no good. They are purple from the base all the way to the tip, and any new growth is also coming out purple-ish black.

Some potentially relevant info:
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease shortly after this problem started (though the doctors thought it might be unrelated and that I should give it a few weeks to ensure it wasn't just bruised), and have been on 4000mg/day of Pentasa since February. I have bad reactive arthritis when I'm not on the Pentasa, but when medicated have no joint pain at all.

Has anyone ever had a similar problem?
