I noticed my daily vitamin contains 100%niacin.I sometimes drink an Amp,sugar free, energy drink which has 200%daily allowance of niacin, and sometimes a 5 hour energy supplement which contains 150%daily allowance of niacin(as niacinamide-30mg).Am I taking too much if I do all in a day?Or,should I skip the vitamin pill if I'm going to be taking the energy drinks that day?

  • Energy drinks generally contain methylxanthines (including caffeine), vitamin B, and herbs. Other commonly used ingredients are carbonated water, guarana, yerba mate, acai, and taurine, plus various forms of ginseng, maltodextrin, inositol, carnitine, creatine, glucuronolactone, and ginkgo biloba. Some contain high levels of sugar, and many brands offer artificially sweetened 'diet' versions. The main ingredient in most energy drinks is caffeine (often in the form of guarana or yerba mate). Caffeine is the stimulant that is found in coffee and tea.
