what is "migraine encephelopathy?"

Looking to find out what migraine encephelopathy and what is the treatment? I am in pain everyday and medications do not work.Have had this since I was 12 and I am now 51 nothing has changed.

  • I haven't heard that term before; I don't know if your doctor meant migraine with other neuro symptoms, or if he said you had encephalopathy with migraine as a symptom - both are possible.

    Migraine by itself is a benign condition, but it can be caused by lots of different neurological diseases, vascular problems, etc. so if your headaches are intractable, I recommend seeing a headache specialist and/or pain specialist for further testing and treatment.
