i have been getting a severe stinging pain in my thighs and groin. it is like bee stings and was initially diagnosed with a slipped disc but the pain in my back and back of legs disappeared but then was told i have got meralgia parestetica. i have been suffering from this condition for almost a year now and i cannot bear the pain any longer - i am so desperate to get treatment. I have been too see some of the top doctors in the UK (I live there) and no one has been able to cure me. I have been doing alot of research and it would appear that the doctors in the USA seem to know alot more about this condition. Can anyone please offer me some advice on a good doctor/ surgeon who knows this condition well enough to help me weather it be by surgery or by any other form of treatment as i am so so desperate now and i cannot take the pain any more. it is affecting my life and my general mental stability at the moment. i have tried everything from chiropractors/ nerve blocks/ steriods/ accurpuncture/ physio/ pilates/ massage (deep tissue)/ tens machines - you name it and i have done it. The only thing that is working is gabapentin but that just puts me to sleep and i cannot just sleep my life away. Please i am begging anyone out there who has had experience of this condition that they please contact me. i am only 38 and i cannot do this anymore. A very unhappy young lady !!!! thanks all.....Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
