I have Macrocytic Anemia and also had 2 operations last year for cyst removal on L5 - caused bad sciatica. Could the leg/foot cramping in the middle of the night have anything to do with the fact that I still have sciatica problems or are the cramps due to the Anemia? Sometimes the pain feels like it's in my joints around my hip area - for instance when I'm driving. If I press on the nerve in my right buttock area I can feel it going right down into my leg.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this matter. Am awaiting results of 2nd set of blood tests. My Mother had leg cramps (low potassium) and was later diagnosed with leukemia.
