I've read discussion about extreme back pain. It lets up when getting out of bed. People have even tried different beds. My pain started to be so bad 5 months ago. I am 62 years old and did a lot of heavy work packing and moving the boxes, to prepare. In Nov. I couldn't get out to walk, couldn't do much. Had exrays to see if I had pelvic bone fracture(again), it hurts a lot. My main pain now seems to be in my hips (lower back) especially left hip. I know I do have arthritis and the pain is extreme in morning. I was so afraid to even get up, I used my (awful) cane to walk to bathroom. I couldn't straighten up, until later in the day. The Naprosyn helps some. I found what helps is to sleep sitting up in recliner. I had had to do this for pelvic bone fracture because of muscle spasms in leg. Also when I slept laying down, my muscles would tense up and make me stiffen in pain. Another thing that helps with all this pain is to go shopping and walk around for 30-40 minutes pushing a shopping cart. The cane is awful. They are going to get me a walker so I can get out and do needed walking to gain back strength and mobility. Also today I start a muscle relaxer. A walker sounds like giving up and going backward but I use to walk over an hour a day and felt great, that wasn't all so long ago either.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
