I've had pain in my right wrist for about a week and a half now. From diagrams on the net it appears that the pain is mainly in the oppens digiti minimi and the flexor carpi radials tendon. I'm no doctor, this is just where it looks like the pain is from the diagrams I am looking at; it is possible that the pain is in different muscles since there are so many small muscles in the area.
I play guitar, and lift weights/pull ups. I believe this is what has been causing the pain, I've never experienced this pain before although I have been playing guitar and lifting for multiple years. I have stopped weight lifting, and significantly lessened my frequency of guitar playing in the last week and a half. I have also brought a soft cushiony surface for my wrist to rest on when I use a PC mouse. I have iced the injured areas several times.
The pain is not getting worse, but it also does not appear to be getting better. If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.
Note: Not sure if this helps, but I'm also a runner and have dealt with shin splints on and off for over a year now, the wrist pain felt similar to the shin splint pain when pressing in on the wrist leading me to believe this is muscular pain due to overuse? Though again, I'm not a medical professional, so I ask whoever may be able to help here.
