I went to the e.r this morning when I got up because I had such severe upper right quadrant pain that I could not breath deeply and it hurt to move. My gallbladder has been gone 25 years. Still have appendix. I have had kidney failure 2x and have a disease that is rare (retroperitoneal fibrosis) that blocks my ureters on occasion and right kidney will stop functioning mostly and left will pick up the slack, so it doesn't show on bloodwork except slight changes. I have had open heart surgery, pancreatitis, gallbladder pain, had three kids. Pain was at LEAST a 7...I waited 2.5 hours to be seen. They did 4 xrays, a urine test, and bloodwork. Gave me toradol even tho I have kidney disease and said "oop, guess I shouldn't have done that" when I pointed it out. They came back and said all tests were normal ..even all kidney, etc. said constipation and go home and take your Percocet.realllly??? for constipation??...Long story short..I emptied my bowels/colon...there was mucousy bright red blood in some toward the end of the evening. When the pain meds wore off, the pain came back worse. I have been crying in pain all evening. Fever got up to 103 and fairly strong chills. I went online and checked test results...the urine had been tossed as contaminated. The alkaline phosphatase was elevated..specific gravity was off...I have access. Could they tell that nothing else was wrong with just an xray? could it be blood clot (I have mechanical valve and take warfarin)..or?...They nearly laughed at me when I asked them to check other things on the xray and told me I could come back and get my own copy from medical records later..Fever went down a bit with the Tylenol, but going back up. Hurts sooo bad to breath and I just am not moving any more than I have to. I was humiliated and lied to today and treated like I was drug seeking and I never once asked for pain meds...except to tell him the ibuprofen type pain killer was a no no....Help....Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
