help please!!!!!4 mnths ago roughly i started a fitness regime after a vvvv long time no exercise at all, was walking, cycling in gym and doing aqua aerobics...this was all going ok until i decided to do a beginners circuits class that involved me running in and out for tyres and then the next day started slight jogging on treadmill.. that night i was in agony in my shin area..this continued for a few days in agony so i saw a physio who said shin splints..also she said my foot rolls in.i have had treatment for 3 mnths now, iced and stretch daily..stopped all classes and treadmill, she had said said bike and swim fine howver about 3 weeks after intial injury my left leg suddenly got a shooting pain in side of my left shin and i stopped the bike from then( she said the bike actaully probably had made it worse- toe straps) an x ray was fine, waiting for mri scan on thurs...trying to get a compartment pressure test..front hurts all the time is relentless and now my calves v stiff. physio(ultrasound massage and acupuncture) relieves it for it to get bad again soon after, now i also have constant burning pain in thighs with tight pea like little knots. walking/exercise kills but long rest makes it stiffer so i have no idea how much i should do or not do! its been months now and no cure and im not even sure if its shin splints or just shin splints..some people say stretch others say stretch makes it worse!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
