I am a 34yr. old female I have been having pain off and on for 5 yrs. I am seeing a Rheumatologist but he can't seem to figure out what is wrong???? First they thought Lupus but neg ANA, then Fibromyalgia, then Sarcoidosis, I was put on Plaquenil for 3 yrs. & then developed asthma symptoms sent to Pulmonologist told me I do not have Sarcoid & I have been poisoning myself with the Plaquenil?????????? Now I am off the Plaq. on Prozac 20mg aday & back to the Fibro diagnosis. I am sooooo confused
I have had slightly high inflammation tests and a postive Rheumatoid Factor test (high) but no sign of joint damage? the pain I feel is usually when I wake up I feel like I have been beaten up by a 2 by 4 and last about 45 minutes, I also get Migraines, dizziness, all over muscle pain all day! If anyone has ANYTHING to possibly HELP, please reply! Thank You:confused:

  • Do you possibly have a food allergy? Try tracking your symptoms related to different foods. I am allergic to chicken...if I eat it, I start getting all kinds of pain, and it takes about three days for it to clear. I also have an inflammatory disease (Sjogren's Syndrome, similar to lupus), and have become progressively sensitive to many foods and many drugs. What about B12 deficiency? Look at the B12 blog (check "new posts" you will find it--"B12 deficiency is commonly misdiagnosed") to see if any of your symptoms relate. This is a start. Marionstar

If anyone has ANYTHING to possibly HELP, please reply! Thank You:confused:There is no such thing as fibromyalgia. It's a throwaway diagnosis. You probably also do not have migraines, especially if there is no history of epilepsy in your family. "I have a bad headache" is not the same thing as a migraine. A migraine is a type of seizure, which is followed often (but not always) by a severe headache. It doesn't make logical sense for your pulmonologist to be the one to tell you that you don't have sarcoidosis. He probably just meant that you don't have granulomas in your lungs. You also probably don't have sarcoidosis, since not only is it rare, but you are not in the typical age group, or displaying the typical symptoms of it.It also doesn't make sense for any doctor to say you were "poisoning yourself with Plaquenil". The drug is not poisonous and has few side-effects, and they are inconsistent with your symptoms. Why would you be on Prozac? That drug has nothing to do with any of the symptoms or diseases you describe. I don't think you are correctly describing your medical history, your symptoms, or the quality of your medical care. In any case, you are not going to find help for this over the internet. The internet is not a hospital.

  • Hi Bobwick, Thanks for YOUR opinion, I realize the internet is not a hospital, are you a doctor???????????????? and of course I didn't give my COMPLETE medical history, this is NOT a HOSPITAL...... I am just trying to find some kind of feed back and also help others who are going through the same stuff. As for the migrianes I was told by my "Medical Caregivers"that is what I am expriencing...... Sarcoidosis is rare and there are side effects to Plaquenil having to do with the retina, I had to get eye exams every 6 mo. while taking it and also you are asked if you plan on having children because it can effect you.......As for Fibromyalgia my doctor already told me it is a "wastebasket" diagnoses because they can't figure out the problem. I am on Prozac because it is supposedly supposed to help with FM , seratonin uptake????still researching.......Bridge27

  • Dear Bridge27; you still might consider food allergies...read about how to eliminate foods to check. You also might have some allergens in your home; look around. Good luck.As for fibromyalgia being a wastebasket diagnosis, it is and it isn't. There are some studies that show abnormal responses to pain, leading to the condition. This is why the serotonin system is incorporated. A medication approved for fibromyalgia pain is another antidepressant, Cymbalta. If the Prozac helps, I don't recommend switching. The WD forum isn't a hospital, but we do try to be supportive and add to the information you have already found through the web and your doctors.

  • Dear Marionstar, I am looking into the food allergies and maybe dust allergies, I was kind of upset when I read Bobwick's reply......I LOVE all the people on this site, Bobwick's message was the first negative message I have gotten & it bothered me. Everyone else has been a great support and given me hope to keep pursuing my diagnosis. Like I have said before we are the only ones that can feel when our bodies are telling us something is wrong and I will not let Bobwick's reply discourage me. There are so many wonderful caring people on this site and I really APPRECIATE all your help Marionstar!I will try to keep you updated! I really feel WD helps people and for Bobwick to comment that it is not a hospital? :mad:I think that is quite obvious! It's the internet! Take care Marionstar all my best! Thanks again! :D Bridge27
