Mesenteric Lymphadenitis?

My Granddaughter has been diagnosed with mesenteric lymphadenitis and had now been in tremendous pain for 3.5 weeks. She was diagnosed with Celiac 2.5 years ago and adheres to a completely gluten free diet. They cannot give her any relief with this in the form of pain medicine, nothing works. She is a tough little girl who has experienced more pain than she should have to. I think she has appendicitis and it is just chronic and not showing the normal symptoms.
Has anyone else had this ML and had their appendix removed and the pain stopped???? CT scan didn't show any inflammation to appendix, only ML. We have an appointment tomorrow for a scan specifically for Mickles diverticulum. I still think it is appendix!
