Starting a few days ago I have had some pain in my lower back and now it is radiating down the back/side of my right leg. It comes and goes, I'll wake up one morning and feel fine, but then that night it'll be back again. Occassionally it radiates down my left leg, but it is not nearly as bad as the right. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else before and if it will go away on its own or not!

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else before and if it will go away on its own or not!I have suffered off and on with pain in my upper right thigh for years. Doctors never would say what it was. Then I was told about a year ago when I found it back and keeping me woke all night....it was a nerve. I was sent to therpy for two months, three times a week. I would ride a low cycle for about 20 minutes, then the therapist would do ultra sound to my leg for about 20 minutes and then put me on a streghter table for 30 minutes. Once I completed my 2 months....the pain was GONE!!! They tried to have me do other excerise but it put me in so much pain that I continue with the regular routine. From Sept. 2010 thru Aug. 2011, I was pain free until I fell down and hurt my knees. At first it was only my knees.....then heel pain was there. And now the pain is back in my right leg. I take pain pills or rub down with pain cream and I wake up in the middle of the night is so much pain. So, I have to make another appointment to the doctor and do therapy all over again. I have tried going to the Fitness Center and walking 30 mintues twice a week and it's not helping.

  • Back hip and leg pain can be caused for a variety of reasons and by different medical conditions. It’s common for back hip and leg pain to originate in the lower back area, go to the hip, and then spread down one of both legs, depending on where the pain originates. Sometimes back hip and leg pain is due to pinched nerves or a form of irritation, but it can have other causes. The pain can be sharp, but in many cases is more of a persistent, dull ache. It’s not unusual for the pain to get down as far as the feet. There are two kinds of pain that affect people more frequently, and both are known as referred pain.
